Editorial and correction policy

This policy explains how Localhost Help creates, reviews, updates, and corrects technical guides. It applies to every article on the site.

Publishing principles

  • Diagnose before prescribing. A command follows an observable symptom and names the layer it tests.
  • Prefer primary sources. Product defaults, security settings, and supported flags are linked to official vendor documentation.
  • State uncertainty. Port associations are conventions; local configurations can override them.
  • Avoid invented authority. Bylines and credentials must be attributable and verifiable.
  • Protect the reader. Destructive, credential-related, network-exposure, and production-risk steps include clear scope and warnings.

Testing and review

For reproducible articles, an editor checks the startup command, listener check, direct request, and at least one failure state. The guide records a major product version when version differences matter. Commands that cannot be tested locally are verified against official documentation and described as documented behavior rather than a test result.

Editorial review checks that the title matches the actual task, code blocks are non-empty, captions use the correct port, internal links resolve, canonical URLs are self-referential, and claims with material security or version implications have a source.

Source policy

We link directly to official documentation for framework defaults and security configuration. A community post may illustrate a symptom, but it is not used as the sole evidence for a product guarantee. We do not publish unnamed survey percentages or productivity claims.

Updates

The “updated” date changes only after a substantive review or correction, not for cosmetic edits. When a page is redundant, it is merged with the stronger guide and permanently redirected so readers and search engines have one maintained destination.

Correction process

  1. Send the page URL, affected passage, software version, operating system, and observed output to gesitosseller@gmail.com.
  2. We reproduce the issue where practical or verify it against a primary source.
  3. Confirmed errors are corrected in the article; material changes update the modification date.
  4. If the evidence is inconclusive, the article is narrowed or labeled rather than presenting a guess as fact.

Advertising and independence

The site may display advertising. Advertising does not determine which products are covered, the order of diagnostic steps, or editorial conclusions. Sponsored material, if introduced, will be labeled clearly.
