In brief: the site has no user accounts, checkout, or newsletter. Information may be received when you request a downloadable checklist, contact us by email, or use the site, including through ordinary hosting and security logs and analytics or advertising services when enabled.
1. Scope and contact
This policy applies to Localhost Help and its pages on localhosthelp.com. It does not apply to third-party websites linked from the guides. Localhost Help is an independent technical reference site and is not affiliated with the product vendors mentioned in its content.
Questions and privacy requests can be sent to links@localhosthelp.com.
2. Information we may receive
Email and voluntary messages
If you contact the editorial team, we receive the email address, name or identifier, message content, and any files or technical details you choose to include. Do not send passwords, API keys, session cookies, private repository addresses, or other secrets.
Checklist requests
If you request the Production Deployment Checklist, the email address you enter is sent through our email delivery provider so the Localhost Help team can receive and record the request. The PDF begins downloading in your browser after that notification succeeds. The address is not added to a newsletter or marketing list through this form.
Hosting, delivery, and security logs
When a browser requests a page, the hosting and network providers may process technical information needed to deliver and protect the site. This can include an IP address, request time, requested URL, response status, browser or user-agent information, and referring page.
Information we do not request
The site does not currently offer accounts, purchases, comments, uploads, a newsletter, or a general web contact form. Localhost Help does not ask for payment-card details, government identifiers, or login credentials.
3. Cookies, analytics, and advertising
Some pages may use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic and page performance. When Analytics is loaded, Google may receive browser, device, page, and interaction information and may use first-party cookies or similar identifiers. Google describes these practices in its Analytics data safeguards.
The site identifies a Google AdSense publisher account and may display Google-served advertising when advertising is enabled. If a Google advertising or measurement service is present, Google and its partners may process information as described in How Google uses information from partner sites.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser, use browser privacy controls, or use Google's available advertising and Analytics opt-out controls. Blocking cookies should not prevent access to the editorial guides, although third-party features may behave differently.
4. How information is used
Information may be used to:
- deliver pages and maintain site availability;
- detect abuse, diagnose errors, and protect the site;
- measure which guides are useful and improve navigation or content;
- send a requested checklist and its download link;
- review correction reports and respond to messages; and
- meet applicable legal obligations.
Localhost Help does not sell email correspondence or personal information supplied in a correction report.
5. Service providers and external links
Service providers may process limited information on behalf of the site. These may include:
- Vercel, for website hosting, content delivery, and security. See Vercel's Privacy Notice.
- Google, when Analytics or advertising services are enabled.
- Resend, to send the checklist request notification to the Localhost Help team. The submitted address is included as the reply-to address. See Resend's Privacy Policy.
- Email providers, when you send a message to the published contact address.
Guides also link to official documentation and other external resources. Those sites set their own privacy practices and controls.
6. Disclosure of information
Information may be disclosed to service providers that operate the site, when reasonably necessary to investigate abuse or protect users, when required by law, or as part of a transfer of the site. Providers are responsible for their own processing under their applicable terms and privacy notices.
7. Retention
Email messages, checklist delivery records, and correction records are kept only as long as reasonably needed to deliver the requested file, respond, document a correction, maintain security, or satisfy legal requirements. Hosting, analytics, advertising, and email providers apply their own retention settings and policies. Aggregated or de-identified statistics may be retained without identifying an individual visitor.
8. Security
Reasonable technical and organizational measures are used to reduce unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Visitors should remove secrets and unnecessary personal data before sending logs or screenshots.
9. Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on your location and the applicable law, you may be able to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with your email correspondence, or object to certain processing. Send a request from the relevant email address and describe what you are asking for. Identity may need to be verified before a request is completed.
You may also control cookies through your browser and use the privacy controls offered by Google or other providers. Requests concerning data controlled directly by a third-party provider should be sent to that provider.
10. Children
The site is written for developers and is not directed to children under 13. Localhost Help does not knowingly request personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent personal information, contact the editorial team so the message can be reviewed and, where appropriate, deleted.
11. International processing
Hosting, analytics, advertising, and email providers may process information in countries other than the visitor's own. Their privacy notices describe the safeguards and transfer mechanisms they use where applicable.
12. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the site's data practices or service providers change. The revision date at the top of the page will be changed when a material update is published.
13. Contact
For a privacy question or request, email links@localhosthelp.com. For a technical correction, see the contact and corrections page.
